Accessibility statement
This is the accessibility statement of the Vuolearning organization.
This accessibility statement applies to the Vuolearning service and has been created on 12.11.2020 and updated on 19.11.2025. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires that public online services must be accessible.
We have evaluated the accessibility of the service ourselves. Testing has been done mostly using the Chrome browser, automatic assessment tools and the Apple VoiceOver screen reader.
Status of the accessibility of the service
The service mostly meets WCAG 2.1 A and AA level accessibility requirements. Known deficiencies have been described below.
Non-accessible content
Known deficiencies:
- (WCAG 1.4.3) Contrast: The contrast ratio between text and background color may not necessarily meet AA level requirements if a custom theme is used.
- (WCAG 1.4.3) Contrast: The contrast ratio between text and background color does not meet AA level requirements for some user interface buttons, user avatars and help texts.
- (WCAG 2.1.4) Character Key Shortcuts: Course reader mode uses single key shortcuts which cannot be turned off or reconfigured.
- (WCAG 2.4.2) Page Titled: Website does not have titles that describe the page's topic or purpose.
- (WCAG 2.4.4) Link Purpose: The website contains some links whose purpose cannot be determined from the link text or from the surrounding context using programmatic means.
- (WCAG 3.3.2) Labels or Instructions: Some components in the editor do not yet have proper labels.
- (WCAG 4.1.1) Parsing: Some card elements in the course listing have interactive elements that are nested within each other.
Content not covered by the legislation
The service contains content created by users or other third parties that have not been produced, funded or supervised by the service provider. This kind of content may not meet the accessibility requirements.

Accessibility supervision
If you notice any accessibility issues in the service, let us know about it first. The answer may take up to 14 days. If you are not satisfied with the answer or do not receive any answer within two weeks, you can file a complaint with Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom. The Traficom website contains detailed instructions about how to file a complaint and how the issue is handled (the website is in Finnish and Swedish only).
